Objective
In 1996, 8 September was designated as World PT Day. This is the date World Physiotherapy was founded in 1951.
The day marks the unity and solidarity of the global physiotherapy community. It is an opportunity to recognise the work that physiotherapists do for their patients and community. Using World PT Day as a focus, World Physiotherapy aims to support member organisations in their efforts to promote the profession and advance their expertise.
To celebrate the world Physiotherapy day, 2022, we, department of physiotherapy, organised an awareness camp for old age people at Shantiniketan Old age home, Adajan, Surat on 7th September, 2022. Together with final year students 3 of our staffs went to the old age home and gave them education about osteoporosis- age related generation, taught them few exercises and also we did health check up for them.
On the 8th September, 2022 i.e. on the day of world Physiotherapy day, we organised various activities here at Vidhyadeep physiotherapy college campus which includes speech on osteoarthritis by students, fitness mania competition and the surface marking competition. All the staffs and students took part with great enthusiasm.
