The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June with great enthusiasm at Vidhyadeep Institute.
Objective
Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India. The Indian Prime Minister, NarendraModi, in his UN address in 2014, had suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.
Details of the Program
The Yoga day celebration was held at the seminar hall of Vidhyadeep campus. The Nehru yuva Kendra, Surat came to instruct the yoga. Staffs from all departments and even the trustees and campus director took part in the event with great enthusiasm.
